Bumblebee shrimp (Caridina cf. breviata “Bumblebee”) belongs to the Atyidae family. It comes from the waters of the Far East, mainly from eastern China, where it inhabits cool clean streams and rivers. Adult individuals are quite miniature and reach only 2.5–3 cm.

Keeping in a community tank is allowed, provided that it does not contain large, aggressive or carnivorous fish species that can eat or injure the shrimp. The design must include plants and various shelters in the form of snags, intertwined tree roots, hollow tubes, and ceramic vessels.

Prefer slightly acidic soft water. They do not tolerate high temperatures well, it is advisable to keep them in unheated aquariums (without a heater).

Unpretentious in food, they accept all types of food served to fish. It is recommended to include pieces of homemade vegetables and fruits in the diet, such as apples, cucumbers, carrots, etc. The pieces should be changed regularly so as not to unnecessarily pollute the water.
