Mga cichlid sa Africa

The collective name “African cichlids” usually refers to cichlids that live in the rift lakes of Tanganyika and Nyasa (Malawi). These large lakes in East Africa are distinguished by an amazing species diversity. Each of them, according to various estimates, has more species of fish than any other enclosed body of water, and the vast majority of them are cichlids.

In numerous river systems of the continent, representatives of the Tsikhlov family live much less than in these lakes, however, among them there are representatives that are among the popular aquarium fish. For example, Chromis-handsome and Kribensis.
